Jonathan is learning to talk! He's been able to say Momma and Daddy for some time as well as sign for food, drink, please and cheese.

Just last week we entered a new level of speaking and response. Last Tuesday, David worked late. I was putting Jonathan to bed going through the usual bedtime routine when we knelt to pray and I decided to ask Jonathan what he wanted to pray for. He immediately replied, "Daddy!" At first, i was not sure if I had heard correctly or if he knew what he was saying. I confirmed asking, "Daddy?" Jonathan gave me one of his big emphatic nods and said, "Ya! Daddy." He knew what he was saying and knew what he wanted.

Jonathan has practiced talking all week. He copied me once when I told him to say please. And one morning after we finished breakfast earlier in the week, I asked him if he wanted to go see Daddy who was still in bed and he declared, "Daddy! Go!"

It is a lot of fun listening to him learn to talk. :)
