Change

Yes, I am pathetic when it comes to keeping up on a blog.

This year we are participating in a life course entitled 'Change.' This course involves moving back and forth across the world and gaining new family members.

It began when we traveled half-way across the world to enjoy Christmas with our families in Idaho. Then the course really got going when David departed for Iraq leaving Jonathan and me to stay with family. Alone. Without him. I took a class at BYU-I. Jonathan got to know his grandparents and cousins, and he loved every one of them.

Jonathan is Talking

Our little boy is talking. He says knew words nearly every day. He will imitate whole sentences if someone will say them one word at a time for him. Every now and again, he will help us say a prayer over a meal. By the time David gets home, I anticipate Jonathan will be talking in whole sentences.

Good news

We've made it to over four months now and the baby is still alive! Hurray!

I had a doctor's appointment on Wednesday. The ultra sound could not have been any more obvious. We've got a nice little picture with legs spread wide and a little something popping way out there. It's a boy!

Catch-up

A whole lot has happened in our lives. Here's the Reader's Digest version:

Moving

Wow! It's been nearly two months since I've updated. Here's what's new:

'That's My Mommy'

On Tuesday, I took Jonathan to a playgroup. He tottered about playing with toys more or less ignoring me. The lady next to me was holding a little baby, and she let me hold him.

Jonathan's learning to talk!

Jonathan is learning to talk! He's been able to say Momma and Daddy for some time as well as sign for food, drink, please and cheese.

Close the Fridge, Please

Jonathan has discovered he is strong enough to open the fridge door. (Scary, I know!) He'll get in and explore the contents, move things around, take bottles out and walk around with them. However, whenever he is hungry and is able to get into the kitchen, he will pull out the cheese. He will toddle around the room shaking the bag of cheese in glee until he sees me. Then he eagerly hands me the bag and excitedly gives the sign for 'please.'

What's in the Oven?

Poor David. I'm afraid I've been a little hard to live with lately; I've been extra moody. One night I was apologizing to David telling him how sorry I was and how I really am trying when he popped out with, "I think you're pregnant."

That was two weeks ago. As of last week, on Thursday the 26th of February, I found that I am indeed pregnant. We will be expecting a little someone to join our family near the end of October or beginning of November. How exciting! Jonathan will have a brother or sister to play with! And David and I will have a baby to snuggle once again.

Neither rain nor snow...

That phrase totally doesn't apply here. Since I'm talking about flying, and rain and snow, sleet, as well as dark of night (for now) means that I can't fly.
